چکیده
We present results from a multi-wavelength analysis searching for multiple AGN systems in nearby (z<0.077) triple galaxy mergers. Combining archival Chandra, SDSS, WISE, and VLA observations, we quantify the rate of AGN, as well investigate possible connections between SMBH accretion merger environments. Analyzing observations 7 mergers, find that 1 has single (NGC 3341); discover, first time, 4 likely dual (SDSS J1027+1749, SDSS J1631+2352, J1708+2153, J2356-1016); confirm one system, J0849+1114; our sample remains ambiguous J0858+1822). Large scale jets in AGN: multiwavelength mapping
X–ray emission from large scale extragalactic jets is likely to be due to inverse Compton scattering of relativistic particles off seed photons of both the cosmic microwave background field and the blazar nucleus. The first process dominates the observed high energy emission of large scale jets if the plasma is moving at highly relativistic speeds and if the jet is aligned with the line of sigh...
متن کاملMultiwavelength Modeling of Tev Agn Observed by H.e.s.s
The High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.) experiment, a ground-based γ-ray Čerenkov telescope array located in Namibia, has now detected many extragalactic objects, which redshifts range from z=0.00183 up to z=0.2, possibly more. With the increasing performances of Čerenkov telescopes, it now becomes possible to probe these objects at small timescales in γ-ray, allowing the study of region...
متن کاملThe International Agn Watch: a Multiwavelength Monitoring Consortium
tbe International AGN Watch, an informal consortium of over 100 astronomers, was established to coordinate multiwavelength monitoring of a limited number of active galactic nuclei ' and thus obtain comprehensive continuum and emission-tine variability data with unprecedented temporal and wavelength coverage. In this review, we summarize the principal scientific results from two completed space-...
متن کاملSimulated Molecular Gas Emission in Galaxy Mergers with Embedded AGN
We investigate the effect of embedded active galactic nuclei (AGN) in galaxy mergers on the CO molecular line emission by combining non-local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) radiative transfer calculations with hydrodynamic simulations. We find that AGN feedback energy in gas rich galaxy mergers can contribute to large molecular outflows which may be detectable via velocityintegrated emission c...
متن کاملSimulated Molecular Outflows in Galaxy Mergers with Embedded AGN
We study the effects of feedback from active galactic nuclei (AGNs) on emission from molecular gas in galaxy mergers by combining hydrodynamic simulations that include black holes with a three-dimensional, non–local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) radiative transfer code. We find that molecular clouds entrained in AGN winds produce an extended CO morphology with significant off-nuclear emission...
